My Vision

I’ve been having visions of a like-minded community for almost two years now.  Since there is one that is about to start up, I thought I’d share my vision with you.

What I have been seeing is a community made up of all kinds of people, but primarily earth-based religions, such as Wiccan, Pagan, Native American, etc., all like-minded individuals that are able to, and willing to, live in peace and harmony with each other and this planet.  There are no covens.  The community is a small town made up of stores and shops.  Everything is set-back-in-time looking.  The buildings are made of stone, and wood mostly.  The town has an old-world, European feel to it – it reminds me of the French Quarter in New Orleans somewhat.   The shops and stores vary from one extreme to the other.  There are book stores, a besom shop, a leather craft and blacksmith shop, miscellaneous nick-nack shops, crafts, clothing stores, crystal and stone shops, herbs, wand shop, candles shop, and even delis with outdoor dining, and a restaurant.  There is a huge stone in the middle of town with smaller stones around it.  This is like a community altar or sorts.  The streets are either dirt or cobblestone.  There is a town square, and off to one side of it there is a large pond.

Around this town are houses and farms.  The shop owners and their families live here.  The houses vary in size, shape, and structure.  The houses and the town are all environmentally friendly with solar power, recycling, etc.  There are gardens, trees, flowers, plants, and animals everywhere.

The entire community is involved in various fundraisers and organizations, helping with toy drives, food banks, helping the underprivileged with clothing and school supplies, animal shelters,  abuse shelters for women and children, etc.

The purpose of the community is to educate others in our way of life, teaching them it is possible to live in peace and harmony with one another in a more simple and back-to-the-basics form, to live in peace and harmony with this planet, and education of our different religions.  The community is handed down from generation to generation.

The community is very self-sufficient.  It is not fenced in and secluded from the world.  It is an open community with nothing to hide.  The community individuals still shop in the surrounding towns and welcomes all walks of life.

Holidays, Sabbats, Handfastings, etc. are big events.  The whole community is involved in decorating and celebrating with big celebration feasts.  There are festivals as well.  The community even has visits and endorsements from celebrity-types.

The community has a voice in everything.  There is a council of sorts that heads the community to keep everything organized and running smoothly.  However, the community is not run by this council – the community is run by the community.

I have found individuals that have this same vision.  I’m interested to know if there are more who are having this vision or have had it.

Your vision is beautiful. I hope to see this place. My PERSONAL vision has always had a mixture of tepees, yurts, and hobbit-huts… Although there always seems to be a castle or two thrown in…. ;-) However, I can see this in my mind as well. Your description is wonderful.

Perhaps built upon the ruins of the old cities after the pyramid crumbles?….

Thank you so much for sharing!

A friend of mine has the same vision I do about the community. Hopefully, she will get time before too long to check out this site and hopefully she can share what she sees as well.

I always considered wicca a very unique religion. I like the idea of not making any “set” way of being a devotee. Also you’re able to call the quarters by yourself or in any sized group.
